Betty Boop Cake

Dying of cuteness...

For a baby shower!

But I almost liked it even more as just a simple pink and white cake:

Igloo Cake

My friend Monica wanted to make a cake while I was vacationing so here is our handy work:

From start to finish it was less than five hours of work, baking included, so I think it turned out really well. I may have converted a new cake decorator too! Great job Moni!

Hapy holidays!

Sweet Cakes DC is going on vacation! See you guys in 2011!

1st birthday

A gray cake for Grey's first birthday.

Harry Potter Cake

I was soooo excited to do this cake! I personally think it turned out perfectly. Call it my hommage to Harry Potter. :)

Just for fun

It's a little miniature three tier cake. It's not much taller than a soda can.

Cleveland Browns Cake

A birthday cake for a Cleveland Browns fan:

Cuteness! Trying to fit the helmet on their son's head but it was a bit too tight of a squeeze. Kids get big so fast! I'm actually making his 1st birthday cake in a few days. Awwww!

Book Cake

A birthday cake for a man writing his PhD dissertation on the books in this stack. He wants to be a teacher, hence the apple.

Big thanks to Brian!

Brian Kroijer gave Sweet Cake's site a much needed graphics makeover. Thanks Brian!

Worst Pills Newsletter in Cake Form!

I made it for a coworker at my work. She is the managing editor of this newsletter.

Running Shoe Cake

A cake for an avid runner who was leaving town. Modeled off his actual running shoes. The shoe is made of cereal treats and it was my first time using them. Turned out pretty well for my first shoe!

Halloween Cupcakes

I made these for my work for our Halloween party of sorts.

Chef Hat Cake

For a friend's daughter who wants to go to culinary school:

Fire Engine Cake

For a friend of a friend, who is a firefighter in DC.

MSU Birthday Cake

Michigan State University's famed "Sparty" mascot for an alum's birthday. The school's fight song is on the side of the cake.

Deadskins Cake

So I made a Deadskins cake. To me personally, the Redskins are so irrelevant, so I am not saying I hate them. I'd just as soon do a cake celebrating the Redskins... this was just appropriate for the birthday boy.
