I started decorating cakes in January of 2010, so I'm relatively new to this. I was asked to bring dessert for a friend's dinner party and decided to make a chocolate peanut butter cake (still a favorite of mine to this day). It was delicious and looked great. I got such good feedback, I decided to keep going. I started working with fondant and soon I was making cakes for dinner parties, birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, baby and bridal showers, etc. I've even had the chance to do two of my friends' wedding cakes, and I'm happy to say we're still friends.
It's a fantastic creative outlet, but it is also an exhausting hobby that takes lots of time, patience, and attention to detail. No plans yet to become a professional cake baker/decorator, but who knows...
